I love veal, although I rarely eat it. Nobody around here can make it right. Calfskin is fabulous, although I don't really own any. And even though I quit smoking six years ago, I loved it for its' own sake, along with the addiction thing. :)

19. I love shoes, clothes, and makeup
I love to partake in rampant consumerism. Not that I can always do so, mind you. But, there is no thrill like finding a pair of shoes I love, that are in my size, AND they're on sale. My closet is already full and I'm creeping into my husband's. And, I have a lip stick or gloss in just about every color imaginable. Having kids has slowed me down quite a bit, though.

23. I'm a liberal who mostly doesn't like hippies, stoners, Green activists
Edited on Thu Nov-11-04 11:26 PM by Dukakis88
I went to a very liberal/radically conscious college, and four years of that turned me into a contrarian skeptic of progressive hipsters, vegans, hippies, etc. Yet I also hate conservatives -- much more so. As a result, I don't fit in anywhere, and have few friends. YAY!

Correllary: I hate the Grateful Dead.

26. Hey, cool... something I like: Charles Schulz.
He was a major force in making my childhood bearable, because he was one of the few voices children were exposed to that acknowledged that life is scary, depressing, unfair, etc., at the same time finding joy in silliness and wry observation. Peanuts was like a friend to me at a very hard time in my life.

29. me too. I loved Peanuts. Had every book, full collection.
Lucy was my hero; she was the only girl around who wasn't dippy and doll loving. The melancholy feeling in alot of them (snowy days; walking alone; autumn) really spoke to me.

My mother threw them all out. :(

30. Theres a new "Complete Peanuts" collection coming out in two-year volumes.
The first two books of it are on the shelves now. It's going to take them twelve years to finish it, but this will be the first time that all of the strips have been collected from the beginning. Great stuff.

49. Well, mayonnaise is technically an ethnic food...
It was invented on the Balearic Islands off the coast of Spain, where the native language is Catalán.

So, for example, when you slather mayonnaise on your bologna and Wonder Bread sandwich, you're eating an Italo-Balearo-American food.

Your mileage may vary. ;)

44. sounds quasi-fascist
Then again, I got in trouble yesterday because I questioned the sanctity of the armed forces... removed and locked threads, etc... damned fake democracy.

Like I said yesterday, as long as we keep glorifying soliders, we are giving consent to glorifying war. Iraq is just another link in the long chain of misery, killing, and greed.

...and I LOVE barbecued ribs. And sometimes you just can't beat a medium-rare fillet mignon or prime rib, either.

And I can't fscking stand "jam bands" like Phish or Blues Traveller or their great granddaddy the Grateful Dead. I'd rather spend a year trapped in an elevator with Pat Boone's Greatest Hits than hear yet another 45-minute guitar wankoff by these sad fsckers. Blah.

Not that I never have done a little experimenting, but it doesn't do anything for me other than knock me out or make me far too spacey. I prefer control over my faculties.
