1. I take another brand but have an idea
Get it refilled. I wouldn't take any medicine that tasted or smelled bad or different from the last batch. I take generic natural thyroid. It doesn't have much of a taste, not pleasant but not bad. It's also cheap enough to throw out. Does your pharmacy have another pharmacist you could talk with? Sometimes they are not open to discussing things and you need to try again or with another one. You could turn it back in to them and ask for them to refill it again. You'd have to pay, but it's better than taking possibly contaminated rx, not only could you hurt yourself, but you don't want to not take thyroid rx.

2. Yes, I take it every day
The reason it smells bad is because it is made from pig thyroid gland. Sounds disgusting, but at least it's a natural source, unlike Synthroid, which just made me faint.

Armour works great for me and my husband but some doctors won't prescribe it because they're owned by the pharmaceutical companies.

4. they also say it isn't regulated enough
meaning the dosage can vary. However, it works for some of us better than synthetic stuff, which works better for others. Mine is made from dessicated pig thyroid glands too, but doesn't smell. My vegetarian son lets me take it or else I'll get cold and die, but he's not happy about it. Synthetic makes me sick, some just doesn't work, some I react to the fillers. It's a pain.

3. Here's the FAQ from their web site.
Apparently, it's normal -- go to question #9:

Nothing unusual, apparently, though you might look for a toll-free number and see if you can talk to someone at Armour about it, if you're really concerned.

I'm a danged vegetarian but the synthroid doesn't work for me. I rationally knew it was from pig thyroid but I had ignored it. Now I may have to switch back; I'm opposed to the way they kill the animals for food.
