If you've got the bandwidth for it, I do recommend clicking on the "video" button to the right of the very pretty picture of Mark (I can't believe that he and I are the same age).

Of course the transcript is wonderful in it's on right:

Excerpt:

Presenter: (Mark exploring mouth again) (jabbery bit) Mark, that is amazing just to listen to that er tribute to him there from (indistinct).. that everybody, from T-Rex onwards, every generation seemed to find, or he seemed to find something for every generation, including The Fall.

(silence)

Mark: ..er, am I allowed to speak now?

Presenter: yeah, go ahead...

Mark: er, right er, er, yeah, whatever, whatever you say. (looks a bit puzzled)

Presenter: ha!

Mark: eh, are you the new one? Are you the new DJ? (Smiles: mouth/tongue thing)

1. I tried interviewing him once
It was a total disaster. I'm not knocking him, but he doesn't deal well with standard questions. Or any questions, for that matter. For Fall fans, the 50,000 Fall Fans Can't Be Wrong CD is a miracle, if all you had was the singles and some of the muddier CDs. Crisp, clear, and really well-engineered, you'll hear things in the songs you never heard before. And since it's more or less all the singles, not a duff cut on the two discs.

3. It is a brilliant CD
Listened to the whole thing a couple of times on recent late-night drives during the Montana car trip.

Soon I'll need an entire 6' CD rack for just my Fall collection.
