Now William H. Macy...there's an underrated actor!
This man can play ANY role you give him to perfection. What's your favorite William H. Macy part? I'm partial to his role in the flop movie "Happy Texas" and of course Fargo.

1. Yes! Fargo and The Cooler come to mind. What a guy.
Although he does tend to play the down-trodden every-man.

6. What was the name of that movie where he played a hitman?
Donald Sutherland played his father. He was fantastic in that.

8. He blew me away in The Cooler
He's great in everything. Ever see "Mystery Men"? Even something as silly as that, he's totally believable. Great actor.

13. yeah . . . but not as underrated as Ben Affleck . . .
I mean, there's an ACTOR . . . I'm amazed that people don't recognize his brilliance . . . damn shame, if you ask me . . .

(sarcasm off . . .) :)

17. Go rent SPORTS NIGHT
Macy is in it, and besides that it's one of the best shows no one ever watched. It's Aaron Sorkin's show before The West Wing and bears a lot of similarities in terms of dialogue and "warm fuzziness". Great show out on DVD. Sadly, only 3 seasons were ever made.

Macy's role in this show is just great.

19. He does a brilliant turn as a horse-racing broadcaster in "Seabiscuit"
Which was an otherwise so-so movie, IMO.

But Macy was inspired, manic, and just flat-out hilarious.
