I think Gary Oldman is one of the most underrated actors...
...why not, so long as everyone else is listing theirs.

2. Too bad
he's a major wingnut. But, you're right, he's one of only two really good actors who's also a conservative. The other being Robert Duvall.

3. I'd heard that, too...
...but then someone posted a story here about how he turned down some big super money role in an upcoming Star Wars or Harry Potter or some such movie because he didn't want to cross a union line.

So, I don't know about him off-screen, but on it I think he's incredibly talented.

"Romeo is Bleeding?"...something like that. With Lena Olin. Good movie. Ultimate Bad Girl movie.

9. No, it's a "summer blockbuster"-type movie he WON'T be in, period...
...apparently, he walked away from a lot of money. Looked up an item about it for you:

Gary Oldman sticks up for the actors union and America

Gary Oldman's voice will not be heard in the upcoming Star Wars film . Gary was offered, and agreed to perform in the film, in fact he was excited and looking forward to the work.

The snag that made it impossible however is that this film is being made as a non-SAG (Screen Actor's Guild) film. George Lucas and gang agreed to hire Gary Oldman if he in fact would become a union buster, and perform work illegally overseas.

As a resident of America, and also a member of SAG, out of respect and solidarity with the other members, he could not and would not consider violating his union's rules.

Gary recently appeared as Sirius Black in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

6. I love the man.
As an actor that is. I have not seen everything he has done but am learning that he is not only just good he has some real chops. Anyone who can go from Buford Dill in Nobody's Baby to Drexl Spivey in True Romance and all the other whacked out roles he has played can hold my interest.
