Is it morally wrong to be cooking mexican food in a wok?
It's just kind of a shock the system to pull the lid back on the wok and be hit in the face with South-of-the-border instead of Far-East. Weird. But I've got his HUGE mess of shredded chicken, and lots of less-important vegetable matter, and it wouldn't fit in my big cast iron skillet. So the wok, it is.

Martin Yan would so kick my ass...

1. YES!
I'm half-mexican and I'm seriously offended! Have you no respect for my culture?

7. Hey now...
It's not MY fault the Mexican people didn't invent the wok. Credit where it's due, though - ain't no Oriental equivalent of a nice caldo mariscos. Hrm... wonder if I could stew up a caldo in my wok? I'm damn sure not hauling a 500-pound cast iron cauldron into the kitchen.

;-)

14. Perhaps
But I'm not... so...

I am nearly half German. So if he cooked the mexican food in a wok while wearing lederhosen... yes I think that would make up for it. But only if we get pics.

It might be a cooking no-no, but if it feels right go for it.

9. Silly Two-hand!
There's no such thing as a cooking no-no! There's stuff that works, and stuff that sets the fire alarms off, or makes you vomit. And the latter are not "no-nos." They're "unsuccessful experiments."

;-)

3. You'll burn in hell
For eternity for this sacrelige.

Or you can pay penance now by tossing in a couple of Habanero peppers. This will lead you through the fire and ito paradise.

10. Fresh jalapenos will have to do
The habaneros were EXPENSIVE! But yes, you're right - this will lead the fire through me, although not quite into "paradise."

:D

Peppers are easy. AND cheap. :)

21. I thought
you weren't talking to me?!? I SHOULD grow veggies here. Plenty of space. But alas, I can't even save a boring old Japanese Maple from the scavery deer herds that wander these parts, and the rabbits would be all over anything the deer left behind.

You got any good German/Mexican recipes for deer and rabbit with half-eaten veggies?

23. I forgive quickly
:)

I usually grow lots more peppers than I could ever eat. I should get some rabbits to consume the ones the birds don't eat.

12. Hi progmom!
:hi: Welcome to DU!

I've actually never tried to make fajitas. I'm currently working on my burrito-rolling technique, and it's not going so well. I guess I could always just SAY they're supposed to be fajitas after they fall apart on the plate...

13. That's a great idea, especially for fajitas.
I think Bobby Flay did something similar on one of those "Iron Chef America" episodes. He combined southwest with Far East cuisine. Yumm!

No way - loofahs stay in the bath where they belong, and likewise with falafels and their street-corner carts. I may be a pervert, but I'm no FOX pervert!

30. I don't think it's morally wrong.
I think Martha Stewart would say it's wrong on aesthetic grounds, but while she's in prison why not just go ahead and run wild.
