2. Great. More fodder for the "tort reform" nonsense.
This case, like most of them, will get laughed out of court. But that won't stop the right wing from using it to push "reforms" on the legal system that restrict our right to sue for legitimate reasons.

I used to work for a railroad company and this kind of shit really frosts me.

She didn't notice the blaring horn or rumbing diesel-electric engines or the excrutiating metal on metal squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech of the brakes? Train must've really snuck up on her. :eyes:

CHILHOWIE, Va. - Fourteen cars of an 83-car Norfolk Southern train derailed near an industrial park, leaving the area smelling like a brewery Thursday.

About 20,000 gallons of beer leaked from three cars of the Roanoke-bound train, said railway spokesman Robin Chapman.

As an Engineer. You wouldn't believe the stupid people out there. I became an ACE (5 hits) in one week. 2 trucks, 2 front end loaders, and one car- All on the same track!! We had a guy who worked on the track gang, get hit on his motorcycle trying to beat a train. Morons.

A train can't stop very fast.

11. There was a case in NYC where a guy jumped in front of a train----
many witnesses-----the family sued saying the driver didn't try hard enough to stop. No wonder the guy offed himself with a family like that.
