2. It needs to be an in or out thing for each worker....
Personally, I want out completely. I would much rather invest my monthly payments into the system as I see fit. Furthermore, once I elected to opt-out of the system, I would want my previous contributions returned to me (less taxes of course) so I could use those for investment as well.

All that being said, if I opt-in and the SS administration plans to delegate my investments to an outside "private" company then I would want a guaranteed return on my investment backed by government loan, bonds, etc in case said "private" company decides to declare chapter 11 and walk off with my $$$.

The point is security and risk. I would rather assume the risk myself, but if that is not possible and the SS Admin assigns that risk to a non-governmental agency... they better have a plan to secure those funds... think FDIC....

just my 2cents,

MZr7

3. So what happens when you've 'assumed risk' and lost...
as most do in the legalized gambling dept? Who pays your bills at retirement?

4. AARP finally used their members dues to buy some balls and oppose
that scumbag. Yea, pissing off the baby boomers, just as they reach retirement and will have nothing to do but revitalize their old anti-establishment ways. Great plan chimpy. Sure that wouldn't come back to bite the GOP in the ass hard.
