6. Buy locally
from local merchants or craftspeople you know-and know their politics. Or go to an online site that lists progressive businesses. If you are near AR, pm me and I can tell you of some folks who do good work and make good things.

25. I scanned the list...
...went, "No - don't shop there", and just listed where I DO shop. There are plenty of stores that are history in one section of the country and still doing business in another, so I never even thought about the little prank you were playing. Besides, I saw a Woolworths in Germany not that long ago.

32. I don't shop.
I've always avoided shopping centers like leper colonies. And, one of my new year's resolutions in 2000: I WILL NOT SET FOOT IN THE MALL.

I've kept it all this time. I'm happily ignorant of what stores are in or out of business.

:hi:

23. Right now I'm shopping Daedalus Books
I sort of round out my gift shopping there. Fantastic books at ridiculously low prices. They also have a very interesting and eccentric music selection. Their web site is:

www.salebooks.com

or:

www.daedalusbooks.com

Besides - I love the name Daedalus. He was the father of Icarus and built the wings that he and Icarus wore to escape Crete after they were imprisoned by King Minos. <end of lesson>

27. Local! Small mom & pop bookstores!
Come on... a couple more bucks and we get to keep local bookstores, or local hardware stores, gift stores, and ...while you're out wandering, grab a nibble at some local bakery.

We are losing to the big boxes.
Come on... save the little guy!

31. Big Lots!!! Really great deals! Especially if you get there on their
delivery day! :hi: It's where I do most of my Christmas shopping. Last year, a Toys R Us went out of business and Big Lots got most of the inventory. It was a great year for Christmas Shopping at Big Lots!
