I gave blood for the first time today.
Edited on Fri Nov-12-04 06:45 PM by ih8thegop
Does that make me a bleeding-heart liberal?

Anyway, it wasn't bad. I was kind of dizzy afterwards, but now I'm okay.

Blood banks around here often dry up this time of year, so I figured I'd do my part.

10. Congratulations!!!
To think that you may actually have saved someone's life today. How often to do you get a chance to do something so important? I've been a regular blood donor, but can't currently as I am having chemotherapy for breast cancer. I hope to get back to donating when I'm "cancer-free." BTW, you may be less dizzy if you are very well hydrated -- so make sure you have an extra bottle of water or juice before you donate.

13. on behalf of those of us banned by the FDA from donating
thank you.

why, you ask, am I banned? do I have sex with prostitutes? am I an IV drug user? did I recently travel to Ebola Rich Conga? do I have some sort of strange disease? do I participate in mass orgies? Malaria? nope. Lived in England in the early 80's. banned for Mad Cow.

hey, a question, you figure Brits can give blood in England, or are they all banned from giving blood?

cigarettes and beer taste better after giving blood. ;-) it's easier to get a buzz.
