Dating a Republican Girl
We first started going steady this October right before election day. She's cute. But the only problem is: she loves George W. Bush and she even watches Fox News!

Argh! I can't believe me luck. And we've even argued about politics multiple times. Will this relationship last? Obviously, having the election right there so early on in November really hurt us. What do you think?

Mostly awful things like calling girls who have abortions "sluts and bitches." I couldn't believe the stuff coming out of her mouth. She is usually so docile. But whenever the topic goes into that she gets very fired up.

I had a friend who believed women who get abortions are inhuman, thought abortion should be illegal and anyone who committed it should be locked up. SURPRISE she had a pregnancy scare, guess what she admitted to me ? She was "NOT gonna have the baby." Hypocrites the whole lot of them, they sicken me.

Oh yeah, she'd know about EVERY woman who has had an abortion? And why are they bitches?

My mom had one in 1965 when it was illegal...she was date raped (no term for it back then, she assumed it was her fault) and she nearly died from the procedure (most likely they used dirty instruments). I'm glad she didn't, I wasn't born until years later. She was no slut, she was a scared 15 year old and had to sign a form saying she'd kill herself if she didn't get an abortion and they did it in a sanitarium.

Ug, that girl sounds like she has no heart or soul. Sorry.

Brutal honesty at its best I guess. I will consider it deeply and weigh the pros versus the cons of the action of dumping her.

But part of me thinks, we can at least have fun for a while now that all of that election ugliness is behind us.

On edit: I should add that I'm only in my 20s and therefore am not really looking for anything TOO serious yet. I just want to have fun at this point in my life. So I'm not looking to settle down with anyone yet. If I were, I would give this up now as you say.

There was a girl in on of my classes I was talking to before I knew her politics. One day the professor asked who people would be voting for in the election and she answered "If you vote for Kerry you might as well be digging your own grave" I haven't talked to her since.

dumb huh ? It was interesting to note in a survey Repugs were more willing to date someone who held diff political beliefs than Dems were. Not so interesting when you realize that people always want to date someone as smart or more intelligent than them, so they can hold a conversation with them. Kind of explains why Dems aren't as willing.
