I don't think I could have found Scott Peterson guilty. With no blood
stains anywhere -house,boat,etc.,I just could not condemn a man to death/prison because he was fishing in the wrong place - what if the fishing were some horrible, nightmare coincidence.

Would rather let a guilty person go free rather than put an innocent person in jail or to death.

1. Too much going against him
I agree it's primarily circumstantial, but why would he change his hair color, get 15k in cash and be near the border with Mexico? And what kind of sick, demented fuck would call his girlfriend (of two dates) from a candle lite vigil for his missing wife? He did both of those things.

Sorry, but I think common sense prevailed here. Those on the jury know the ins and outs of this case more than anyone here. But I think he's guilty. Not an inkling of doubt in my mind -- anymore. I say anymore because at first there was some.

2. WHO CARES....
....IS THIS THE ONLY MAN ON THE PLANET ON TRIAL FOR MURDER??

It's nothing but a bunch of mirrors and media smoke screens.

3. Nail on the head
At the end of the day, who cares. We care someone was murdered, or at least we should but the media attention was/is over the top. The daughter of a good friend of my mom's was stabbed 17 times by her boyfriend in July 2003. He was sentenced to life without parole last week. It's going on everywhere and frankly, I don't care for the picking and choosing by the media.

And you know what the worst part is? They're probably already looking for the next one.

7. Don't you realize the case is about pretty people and abortion
The case got on the news because Scott Peterson is "pretty". So is Laci

It stayed on the news because the Republican media realized the story about the murdered pregnant woman would help get silly Americans to vote Republican, thereby furthering the media consolidation/control.

It's all vicious and calculated.

11. Question --
Why in your view would covering this particular murder and trial encourage more Republican votes than any other case? Is it because the victim was pregnant, thereby bringing the unborn and all issues associated with fetal status, rights, etc. into the mix? Or that generally speaking crime and punishment issues are favor Republicans? Or is your position simply that no murders and trials should be covered by the media because there are so many that obviously they can't all be covered and that covering any is therefore a bias of sorts?

4. horrible coincidence, that

But the sheerest of coincidences, he was right at that spot 50 miles away from their home where her body was dumped.

About the only way it could have been more incredible is if he'd hooked the corpse by, uh, accident and let it go.

8. But howcould you kill someone and there be no blood - spatters orsomething
Even if he hit her with something hrd enough to kill her, there would HAVE tobe at least a tiny bit of blood somewhere.
