Hamster wheel sawed through support pole!
After 8 years, the sheer mileage of a succession of hamstrers running on the wheel has caused the bar connecting the wheel to the horizontal pole to saw through aforementioned pole! Kipling's now sleeping with the wheel lying on its side next to him.

2. When I lived in California (Pacifica) I saw the Coolest ....
...hamster wheel in the world. I mean, the guy that built this thing had put little ball bearings on the shaft, had added extra support for his hamster's paws and to top it off, had put a little Generator geared to the wheel so each time his little pet got on the wheel 3 small Xmas trees lights would fire. Double Cool!
