14. truth!
That version is unforgivable. Now my Kareoke version on the other had, is great. But that's because I'm singing it about America.

6. I second that
I also don't like the DMB cover better either. Mr. Tambourine Man by the Birds . .
there are probably a number of others. I actually like the way Dylan sings.

5. A version of God on Our Side by
A French singing group. It is done in French and it sounds like the arrangement was done by Andy Williams' ex-wife, the one who shot the skier. That version totally sucks.

8. How about...

Every single person to ever attempt to cover a Dylan song? Hendrix's "Watchtowers" is actually one of the better ones. Even Dylan once said, "That was Jimi's song."

On edit: Oh, and Hendrix's "Like a Rolling Stone" from Monterey Pop is pretty good too.

13. This is true.
How'd DU pick the two most uncoverable acts in the world? Beatle's covers? Dylan covers? What's next, Nina Simone? The Velvet Underground? Public Enemy?

I've got this pet theory that Dylan brought together the lyrical relevance of folk with the expressive performance of soul. I mean, pre-Dylan folk is kinda, well, "proper". Not so emotive.

Comments?
