3. Ones that I USED to buy.
VS/Limited/Bath& Body Works/White Barn Candle Co are huge Repug donors.

I have always bought the Body by Victoria bras, because they always fit the best, but I'm doing some serious fitting at Fredericks, or wherever else I have to.

They get no more business from me.

That was called "French -----." Anyone remember the name? If it has French in the title it has to be good.

11. Well, enjoy knowing
that your dollars are going to fund Conservative shit like we saw in Ohio.

I personally won't have that on my conscience, pretty lingerie or not.

13. Good Luck with that lifestyle
While I respect your choice not to shop at stores that donate to the republican party, I don't see how it is possible to avoid it.

I also believe i would be wrong to make that choice. I know that a large percentage of the employees at my local mall belong to the Coalition of Mall Workers, a local union. This union is active politically and supports the local democratic party. A union rep spoke at a young dems meeting several years ago. At that time over 70% of the mall employees were union members (then one of the most successful mall unions in the country). I don't know what the current membership percentage is.

Given that Victoria's Secret and the Limited are two of the larger stores in the mall, if the union is as strong as I suspect it is, the math suggests that many of these store employees pay dues to that union. I do my best to support stores that have union employees. I'm a dem primarily because of the support for workers. This union took the time to come to young dem meetings and encourages their employees to vote the democratic ticket.

I don't support cutting my shopping at stores where hard working democrats need shopping to keep their jobs. You may see any money going to Victoria's Secret as going to the republicans, but that money also pays employees and union members. (at least at my mall, I know most malls are still struggling to get union support)

Just something to think about. I respect your decision, but it just would not work for me. I would not want to have that on my conscience. If the democrats are going to win national elections at the mid-terms, we need to unite the union workers back on this side of the aisle.

16. You're right on
I checked out Lou Dobbs site on CNN.Com for his info on 'Outsourcing America' http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/lou.dobbs.tonight/. I was shocked (I know I shouldn't be) at all the corporations using outsourcing to increase their bottom line. The list was so long you can only check out one alphabet letter at a time!! I wanted to see if I could start boycotting a few of these companies if I were already using their services. I'd have to turn ascedic just to survive in a world without these products!!! The best I can do is put pressure on my congresswoman to push for stricter outsourcing laws.

18. Yeah
It will be difficult to live in a world where you don't buy products from "bad" corporations. Though I don't blame corporations for being immoral, I blame republican officials for the deregulation and tax breaks that allow corporations to act "bad."

I was shocked at the cnn list as well. Thank you for pointing that out to me. It is very scary.

Not that anything is wrong with Corsets. Some people love wearing them, just most of them are not women.
