Very sorry about that! Took me awhile to "catch on", entrenched as I was in my fundamentalist phase, that Pat is not a very nice, sincere fellow and he could care less about much except money-money-money and bamboozling truly nice, sincere people out of theirs. One time I called 700 Club's "help line" to ask for prayer for my mother, who had Legionnaire's disease. The staff person who took my call was more than happy to oblige--once he'd clarified I was a "member" of the club who'd paid my "dues". My mother survived, thanks to some excellent medical care, and while I was grateful for that, it was several years before I fully comprehended how I'd been sucked in. The whole Jimmy-Tammy Faye thing helped me see the light. Not the kind they'd have liked, of course, but I did at last see the light. I still have my faith, but now tempered with a healthy dose of cynicism about "God's messengers" who prey upon the gullible. In fact, the thought of Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, James Dobson, etc. running this country scares the hell out of me, as well it should.

Anyway...I digress. If I'm reading my posts right, I should soon be at the DU magic 700 Club number. That I'm pleased about!

Of something my 6-year-old grandson asked me: If a grape turns into a raisin when it's in the sun, why doesn't a raisin turn into a grape when it's in the snow?"

Well, Grandma thought it was pretty funny. And I WILL get to my 700th post before this week is out! I'm determined!
