1. Blue Velvet only because it's less dated...
Both are stellar movies. But River's Edge has much more of a dated feel too it. Blue Velvet has that timeless Lynchian weirdness to it.

2. River's Edge. Anything with Crispin Glover wins.
Although I loved Blue Velvet, Kyle Maclachlan has always left me cold. "In Dreams" was one great, creepy scene, that made me re-check all of Orbison's work.
