How does one alphabetize a list in MS Word?

I've got a horrid bibliography to edit and I don't want to cut and paste this mess. Thanks!

1. Go to the 'Table' function.

It offers you a 'sort' option on that pulldown. Select the sort option, and let it sort by paragraphs if you're not using a table. That will sort by each mechanical line break, as long as you have hard returns and the complete entries are paragraphs to themselves.

2. If I'm not mistaken, you also need to first select the paragraphs

you want alphabetized.
