anyone else watch Animal Precinct on Animal Planet?
They have sad stories all the time of neglect and abuse. Tonight they had this adorable Dachshund who had been beaten with a hammer and lost an eye. They caught the guy and he will be tried for a felony due to the severity of abuse. The dog came through and was adopted by a new family. It still make me sad to hear what people will do to animals. I understand not everyone loving animals, but cruelty I don't.

 poor little Dachshund

1. I love Animal Planet and Animal Precinct.
Unfortunately I wasn't watching tonight. My favorite stories are those where abused animals get adopted by responsible and loving owners and live happily ever after! Happy endings!

5. Right! Happy endings make it worth watching
It also does another major service, it shows that adopted animals can make good pets.

2. I watch that show all the time
It is unbelievable to me that people can be SO cruel. I have had to turn the channel on more than one occasion when it's been just too upsetting to watch.

4. I do watch it but it kills me
I have to go through periods where I don't because it gets to me too much. It's disgusting what some people are capable of but I love those animal cops. I always think somehow I'm going to become a millionaire and I'm going to throw money at those shelters and the organizations that are fighting for those animals.

9. Thrown through a glasstop table
That's the story of one of the dogs in our rescue. Mad boyfriend+psychotic rage=poor doggie with an almost amputated leg. Felony animal cruelty charges and our campaign against him are keeping him locked down...bastard.

We've taken in severely emaciated (starved) dogs, beaten dogs, cats that have been shot...yes, amazing what folks will do to an animal sometimes.

10. omg thats terrible
Its hard to believe people are that cruel and heartless. You work in rescue? That must be very rewarding. Heartbreaking, but rewarding.

11. I'm the prez of the org
We keep some of the worst cases here in my house. Our latest one was hit by a car, both back feet were degloved, and his people let him fester under their house for 2 days before bringing him in to be looked at.

Heartbreaking? Absolutely. Rewarding? Even more so.

12. I Don't Have The Heart To Watch It Anymore
Even though many of the stories have "happy" endings... it's just too heartbreaking to watch.
