Any feminists here, poets etc
I am watching a documentary of Sylvia Plath on A&E. I have always found here life and work to be very interesting, and tragic. I wonder how others feel about her. I must admit, this documentary explored more than I knew of her from the brief vignettes accompanying her works. Though the inner darkness of her life is painted vividly through her art.

2. What this lesbian-feminist/sometimes-poet feels about her...
Edited on Sat Nov-20-04 05:33 AM by Sapphocrat
Syl is among the vast hordes of mentally-fragile artists who were/are shattered by a primitive, uncomprehending society on a daily basis. (See also Van Gogh, Woolf, Pollock, Munch, et al.)

Not entirely sure what you're asking, exactly.

On edit: Freaking Evil Typo Fairies! We hate them, I tell you! Hate them!

6. Not really sure myself
I only know that I loved to read her poetry in college and when I saw this documentary, as I was scanning the nights offering, I was drown in. Just curious if others have a passion for her work. My tag line seems to the most controversial point, the meaning of etc? Just an errant typo from a tired fairy. Peace and time for bed.

7. Well, in that case...
Maybe you're looking for a response in words, that can't really be put into words. It's like... trying to define somehting that can't be defined.

So, sometimes -- when it's your passion that's being pricked/prodded/piqued -- you just have to give in to the idea that what it is, it is -- and it can't be articulated in words. Sometimes something just moves you, and that's best you can do to express it.

Does that make any sense?

(Waitaminnit, you're a fairy?! Wheeeee! :D)

8. Feminist here......
The Yellow Wallpaper was written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, well before Sylvia Plath's time. Hi fleabert, glad to meet another feminist.

9. Gilman! Thanks!
good to meet you too. When I think of feminist writing, the yellow wallpaper is the first thing I think of. I wrote a little paper on it in college and fell in love with the story. Sad story, but great anyway. I don't know much about Plath except she's got a tragic story herself.
