Nov 20 and my peppers and tomatoes are blooming.
I live in Lexington Ky and we have not had a killing frost. There are flowers everywhere.

It will be a very short winter it appears. OUr killing frost used to come on or about Oct 15th.

what gives?

1. Global warming
There's no snow in Minnesota yet either, and temps were in the 50s here last week.

Not that global warming makes everything warm - it just makes the climate change. Drastically and quickly.

know if we don't have a good hard freeze, we will be overrun by insects next year.

We haven't turned the heat on yet. We haven't needed it.
