Meddle, Dark Side Of the moon, and Animals are all about tied IMO.

6. Money is my least favorite song on DSOTM...
It is the only erason I can ever even think whether the best is DSOM or Meddle. Sometimes I just skip right over it. It doesn't fit with the rest of DSOTM.

23. I skip Money too.
For the same reason as you, plus, it has gotten so much airplay, I'm sick of it.

38. I really can't stand "Money"
I can't imagine why they included it on the album, it has nothing in common with the rest of the tracks.

3. I like them all really
But I have to say Dark Side of the Moon is and was such a great written/recorded/produced album that it is just as good today as it was when released. After all this time I still enjoy listening to the tunes on that album no matter how many thousands of times I have heard them.

but all y'all heshers who voted for "Dark Side" need to put the blacklight away and listen to some "Piper," stat.

11. Piper stands by itself.
I can't deny DSOM. It's timeless. And "Meddle" is a close third. The Wall is shite; overplayed.

12. The Wall has some brilliant stuff on it.
Though I could happily go through life without ever hearing goddamn "Another Brick in the Wall, Part II" "Young Lust" or "Comfortably Numb" ever, ever again, ever. Ever.

10. Heh, whatever happened to Peaches?
I always thought that was a really funny name for a record store. Goes along well with 'Bursten Applebees'.. Anyone remember that store from the 70's?

30. Sound Warehouse Bought
them, then Blockbuster bought Sound Warehouse and eventually dumped all the music because they sucked at music. Now there's only mall stores and Tower, which was up for sale, but that was a while ago.

8. maybe an easier way to analyze
I voted for Meddle even if DSotM is better.

Without regard to the changes in lineup, I break PF down as everything before DSotM and everything after.

DSotM stands alone as a singular magnificent achievment in the history of recorded music.

That being said, Meddle for before and Wish you Here for after.

But that's just my opinion.

16. The mono mixes of the 1st two records are my favorite...
"Piper" & "Saucerful of Secrets"

I love the singles from that era too- especially "Apples & Oranges" and "Julia Dream" (Also preferably in MONO!)

I'm a huge fan of the original-Swinging-London-Summer of love-psychedelic - "The Pink Floyd"

Just because no one else speaks up for it. :)

Seriously, I love the track "Sheep." I love the anger, the rage, the railing against noncomformity--I first heard it when I was in college, and it has stayed with me to this day.

I even once tanscribed Claire Torry's Vocalm on The Great Gig In The Sky on guitar.

That was a LONG time ago I doubt I can remeber it now.

41. The best way to Experience Floyd's music
is Quadraphonic sound!

I just got a vintage Sansui Quad receiver and am shopping around for SQ pressings of DSOTM, WYWH and ATM on vinyl. The 8 track quad tapes would be nice but they routinely sell for over $100.00 on eBay.

I'm excited to be finally entering thew world of Quadraphonic sound. A great way to waste an afternoon just chilling surrounded by beautiful pristine analog hi-fi.

44. Compare Piper to the other albums that came out in '67
He used the guitar in a very innovative way. Also, songs like "Lucifer Sam" or "Arnold Layne" were ahead of their time.

45. When I was at my angstiest as a teen
I'd lie spread eagle on my bed in my darkened room and listen to The Wall over and over again, but I always loved Wish You Were Here, especially for Have a Cigar; I just thought there was nothing more clever/poignant than the idea of these hustlers telling the musicans about how far they'd go, and then cluelessly asking, "Which one's Pink?"

Then again "Mother" on The Wall, and "Run Like Hell" rocked my world too, not too mention "Comfortably Numb."

But with Pink Foyd it's all about listening to the albums all the way through, isn't it? They're all great journeys.

I never liked "Money" though. That's the only one that never did for me.
