2. Terminated
Whether they were "on top" at the time is debatable, but I think it was a good thing.

Zwan - Corgan's next project *as far as I know* never really took off.

3. I once had full access backstage for pumpkins
I had no desire to meet the little Pretentious Bstr'd.

What would I say? "Want a Prozak with your beer?"

4. a genius of a pretentious bastard or
a pretentious bastard who is a genius. either way though i still like his music.

i loved watching a New Order show where he played guitar for them. it was all the joy of New Order songs plus a touch of revamped guitar attitude for some extra kick. it was just right, didn't overwhelm the songs, and didn't fade and be pointless, it was just right. a great show.

5. Smashy Punky-- the REO Speedwagon of the 90s
Billy Corgan is an overrated, whiny little fuckstain who will be remembered as being little more than the Kevin Cronin of 90s "alt-rock".

6. Is it just me...
...or does anyone else think Billy Corgan sounds like Eric Cartman from South Park?

Makes it real hard listen with a straight face to lyrics like "Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage".

Billy just wants his Chessy Poofs.

8. Good observation, Corgan came before Cartman, so I never thought
of it like that :-)

7. Both
I do love me some Smashing Pumpkins...mostly the earlier stuff though. I think the magnificent bastard genius may be losing his touch lately. I heard he writes all the music for one of those crappy new emo/nu rock bands (or whatever you want to call that shlock that seems to be everywhere you turn now.) Blah...
