Why do i watch The Lawrence Welk Show?
It's on my local PBS station right now. Every time it's on i can't help but watch. It's almost like watching people from another planet. Some good acts mixed with cheese.

4. A vun ana two ana three...
God, flash back to days spent with my Grandparents, they MADE me watch that shit.

Bobby and Sissy should have had a contract put out on them. And that piano lady, Joanne something, I would have done that one myself.

How can you do that to yourself? Especially when they tried to do something 'hip and with it'. Oh, such painful memories of being embarrased for people other than myself.

11. If you mean 'white' as banal or a void or devoid of anything interesting,
I agree.

Or even if you mean 'southern whitey cracker' I'd agree. :D

15. White? Whaddya mean white?
Edited on Sat Nov-20-04 07:38 PM by AngryOldDem
I mean, man, they had an African-American tap dancer, for Chrissakes!

My mom was a huge fan of this show back when I was a small kid, and even then I knew tokenism when I saw it.

:D

12. Wrong Dick Dale....
Edited on Sat Nov-20-04 07:27 PM by JonathanChance
Dick Dale of Dick Dale and the Deltones was born in 1937, not 1926. He played the drums and the guitar, but never the saxaphone.

1.) It's a hoot

17. LW is from Mars
A local show called "The Polka Varieties" is from Venus. It features couples married for about 1000 years who Polka around the floor to tunes like "My Beer Belly Polka."

Hie thee hence to a healer posthaste. With leeches judiciously applied your sickness may yet be cured.

If not, you'll end up just like Joe Feeney...
