1. Ugh... Christmas music
they used to have the decency to wait until a week or two before the day to go to ALL Christmas music in stores... then it was Thanksgiving... this year, it's been blaring since Halloween. Next time a Christian bitches about being "persecuted" and not being allowed to say "Merry Christmas" anymore, remind him of the 60 solid days of Christmas music ALL of us are subjected to in every retail establishment.

On that note, I think retailers are desperate for a good holiday season, as they're all trying to outdo one another with early "holiday" discount events... Books-a-Million had theirs TWO weekends ago, Borders was last weekend, and the "local" store was this weekend... "Black Friday" ain't what it used to be, and if this ain't a great retail Christmas, we're going to see a LOT of fallout in the new year.

12. Agree - Ugh
I'm pretty bah humbug most of the season anyway but this year...don't get me started. There is a Kmart here that cleared out the garden center and put in the Xmas crap the first week in October. I told the manager on duty I'm boycotting their store for that reason alone. She looked at me like I was from another planet.

25. Twisted Christmas -- Bob Rivers Comedy Corp
When you're fed up with the treacly sentimental stuff...this album will set you to rights. :)

Parody is the order of the day: "Wreck the Malls" and "The Twelve Pains of Christmas"; "A Visit from St. Nicholson" (Jack, ya' know), and a particularly twisted take on "The Chimney Song"

A Sure-Fire way to clear out the stuffy relatives and in-laws, for sure.

13. Christmas Time Again - Lynyrd Skynyrd

Their version of "Greensleeves" is beautiful, and their original "Classical Christmas" is a keeper.

Also, the raunchy blues-rock "Santa Claus Wants Some Lovin'" is a must-hear.

Fuck sappy crooner shit! Fucking ROCK fer fucksakes...

It's not Christmas at our house without Bob Rivers. ;D

The best song:

Walkin' Round in Women's Underwear

(to be sung to "Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland")

Lacy things -- the wife is missin',
Didn't ask -- her permission,
I'm wearin' her clothes,
Her silk pantyhose,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear.

In the store -- there's a teddy,
Little straps -- like spaghetti,
It holds me so tight,
Like handcuffs at night,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear.

In the office there's a guy named Melvin,
He pretends that I am Murphy Brown.
He'll say, "Are you ready?" I'll say,"Whoa, Man!"
"Let's wait until our wives are out of town!"

Later on, if you wanna,
We can dress -- like Madonna,
Put on some eyeshade,
And join the parade,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear!

Lacy things... missin',
Didn't ask... permission,
Wearin' her clothes,
Her silk pantyhose,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear!

29. I like Gloria Estefan's "Christmas Through Your Eyes"
There's also an old LP my parents had that is green - the album cover is dark green - I think it's called "We Wish You a Merry Christmas", and it's by some choral group. Has a haunting version of "Coventry Carol" on it which I love.

31. Beatles, Phil Spector, Mannheim Steamroller and
one track off a comedy XMas CD, about the 12 days of Christmas. Just hilarious.

5 months of bills! sticks out in my mind, it's funny, if you ever had crazy Christmases with family. Lights not working, in-laws coming over, etc. Might be Twisted Christmas, the CD.
