I hate that stupid Applebee's commercial...
... The one where the football team shows up after closing time and the three employees decide to stay, re-open the restaurant, and serve the team.

There is no fucking way that three people are going to serve a whole football team. Not within 3 hours at least.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

1. And.
Those employees were later fired because it was unauthorized overtime.

3. Here's what I'm wondering:

How could a town with only one public high school be big enough to have its own TV station?? Cause it's implied in that commercial, if you watch and listen closely.

No city in this country of more than 35,000 people has only one public high school. And not many towns of less than 35,000 have a TV station.

4. If you really want to get upset at Applebee's let me tell you a TRUE story
Hubby and I went to Applebee's to eat and Hubby wanted a drink. They asked for I.D. (which is natural when it comes to Hubby who is 30 but looks like he is 15.) and then they wanted a second form of I.D. and that I.D. had to be a credit card.

We have not been back since then...10 months ago.

8. Good for you, what they did was illegal.
My father had the same thing happen to him back in the mid-1980's at a Fargo Walgreen's Drug Store. Now my father is a Turkish immigrant, and his accent was still thick back then (moreso than today), and in those days, Fargo was as white as polished porcelain, and not diverse whatsoever. We were the only Muslim people in the city, I think. These were the days when Americans hated the Iranians, and anyone of Middle Eastern descent (much like today, but moreso). So anyway, he had to purchase some medication refills, when the manager asked him for THREE forms of ID, two of which asked were credit cards. Well, my father cursed him out like crazy, stormed out of the store, and threatened to file a civil lawsuit. The manager was fired, which was good in the end.

5. Can you say emotional manipulation?
It's a huge franchise, and they're all 'look at how hometown we are'.... a cute concept, but laying it on a bit thick I think.

9. I don't hate it nearly as much as the TGI Friday's commercial
I am positive I am not the only person on this board who wants to jump into the TV and strangle that husband!!!

How condescending and smug can you get?

Love the look on his face though when he sees the kids with Grandma.

Almost makes you think he had a babe coming to meet him and wanted the family to get the hell out of there

11. I was distrubed by it too... Talked about it here awhile ago
I just saw it and it actually looks like the husband is mad at the wife. I can't believe they have not had complints about it and WHY keep it on. OR is this a clue that the FUNDIES want Americans to think that is a normal reaction?
