Episode 1001 : Soultaker
All week I've been drowning my sorrows by watching Mystery Science Theater.

Last night I watched Soultaker.

That is the most awful/funny movie I've ever seen.

You think The Sheen/Estevez Family ever forgave Joe for his contribution?

And what's the deal with Robert D'Zar's giant face (the head angel of death)????

It was awesome seeing the family (the Sattelite of Love Family, that is) reunited :D

Even T.V.'s Frank showed up to join in the fun:

2. The movie was so godawful bad
especially Estevez and the ingenue/screenwriter, but Joel, Mike and the 'bots were brilliant. And, as you say, TV's Frank was there, too. Somebody's got to get either Sci Fi or Comedy Central to start playing the damn reruns again.

3. why can't they play the earlier episodes as well?
I heard it was a legal issue, tho I must confess ignorance.

4. I think Comedy Central was hugely pissed when the crew basically
took a year off (only 4 episodes) to do the movie. But they were cutting their nose to spite their face then, and if they're still carrying a grudge now, they're nuts.

As to Sci Fi, it was never exactly a good fit with their other programming, but I still wish they'd rerun those shows. It'd have to do better than infomercials, right?

Short answer is I really don't know. There's always http://www.mst3kinfo.com/ if you're burning to know.
