I hear the sea lions barking....
yay!

I live about 9 blocks from the beach. The weather conditions are just right so I hear the sea lions as if they're next door. Sometimes I hear the surf... sometimes I hear the sea lion. Tonight it's the critters. I'm tempted to walk down there.

1. I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each.

I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each.

I do not think that they will sing to me.

I have seen them riding seaward on the waves
Combing the white hair of the waves blown back
When the wind blows the water white and black.

We have lingered in the chambers of the sea
By sea-girls wreathed with seaweed red and brown
Till human voices wake us, and we drown.

To think that I used to know this one by heart.... :-)

about a mile from the wharf. Which is why it's so special that I can hear them. Now I can hear the surf, but no lions.

Where did you live?
