1. here ya go
Here's Puff:

He's my girlfriend's late doggie. He was named that because he had the ability to blow himself up to seven times his normal size.

No, just joking. He was called that because he looked like a big puff ball of cute white fur.

Also to up the proportion of dogs to cats - here's Kato (dingo blue heeler cross)- named after a construction company that make earthmovers

6. Sonic
He was very very fast when he was younger (13 now) and my nephew suggested the name because he loved the Sonic the Hedgehog game.

Then came Frolic (she is the black and white one). So named because she frolicked around and it ends in IC.

And then Mimic, because I became obsessed with IC ending names and I thought it was cute.

22. All you do to post a pic is go to a website, browse your hard drive
and select the picture you want to post, hit "upload" and then the host site will generate a line of code which you copy and paste into the subject line of your message. It's very easy.

I like this host site because it's no frills--no sign up, you just go and post: http://uploads.bestupload.com/upload.php

This is Tupea:

Tupea (2Pea) is named after Peanut (Pea), a cat who had a fun but tragic short 2 yrs. (his story for another day)

This is Willie:

Willie is named to rhyme with Tupea as he has adopted from the same shelter at the same time

Everytime I come home from work. In front of the food bowl, waiting.

Here's Abigail:
<>

She was named that when I got her. This is the only picture I have online of her right now, but she really isn't as evil as she looks.

Her little sister is Annabelle, whom I got straight of the street. I named her that because my girlfriend suggested it. It's similar to Abigail and because when we took her in, my gf kept calling her "Little Orphan Annie." I know...how cute. Anyway, no pics of her yet. She looks almost exactly like Abigail, though, so you get the basic idea.

Edited on Tue Nov-23-04 07:48 PM by fleabert
so named because when we got her she fit completely in one hand, and was very black, the smallest thing we could think of that was tiny and black was a flea. She was almost Stellaluna since she sorta looks like a bat, but that was a BIG name for such a little pup.

54. Here are Lewis and CatZilla
Lewis is so named because he was an intrepid explorer; first out of the litter to get out and prowl the world. He is the big one in the back in this photo.

CatZilla, his brother was the largest kitten in the litter, but when they got out and started eating solid food, Lewis out grew him!

But they are still sweet as can be and wonderful fun.
Shown here trying to hitch a ride to Wyoming.

They are siblings:

Nixon--because they were all born on the day Nixon died, so he got the name (but MY Nixon is a real love hog)
Lex--it means "law" and I liked that (it's now my screen name here)--he's a male kitty. Lex is a bundle of trouble, always into something.
Oz--(my only girl) after the Wizard of Oz and I like the little girl having the "z" in her name since the boys (her brothers) both had an "x" in their names. She's a real prim & proper girl.

No, I didn't pose this picture! I just ran and got the camera quickly.

57. **Very** cool cat tree!
Store-bought or home-made? These things can get pricey!

Of course, the cats are beautiful!

58. It was store-bought, sort of, one afternoon when we went to a cat show.
Edited on Wed Nov-24-04 12:57 AM by Lex
I don't remember WHY we went to the cat show--we don't show cats.

It was in the next town over, and we thought we'd see pretty kitties I guess.

Anyway, turns out that a LOT of cat-related vendors come to these cat shows and we ended up buying this cat tree from a guy there selling them.

That was like 10 years ago, I' guess. Our cats were only a year old at the time. They ADORE it still and it's still good as ever.

60. Bootsy & Noodle
Edited on Wed Nov-24-04 01:27 AM by ariesgem

Bootsy (the big one) was named after my favorite bass player (who happens to have a CAT name). Noodle was named because she has a "defective" spiral tail.

61. Ellie the dog

She was supposed to be named after Ella Fitzgerald, but her temperament just didn't fit when she was a puppy. So we named her after Brill Building songwriter Ellie Greenwich.

70. Cosmo and Ricco

Cosmo (the black cat) and Ricco (the tabby).

We named Cosmo after Cher's father in "Moonstruck" and Ricco cuz I wanted another Italian name. It was gonna be Rocco, but I didn't want to seem too gay and name him after Madonna's son.

83. Asta and Rodeo

Asta is named after the dog in the Thin Man movies. She was our first dog. We have 4 other dogs, Petey, Crystal, Porkchop, and Tillie.

Our American Saddlebred, Rodeo. Rodeo was born when the previous owner was on her way to a rodeo. Her dad called her and said "you've got a baby here" so she turned around and that's how he got his name. His registered name is Fling's Summer Flame because the previous owner bought her mom, Rose's Summer Flame, and didn't know she was pregnant. So we decided Flame had a fling the previous summer, hence his name. BTW, he was 3 days old in the photo. He's 4 yrs old now.

84. I can't post pictures
I wish I could because my cat is beautiful. He's about 16 pounds, all muscle, grey with white feet, a white chest and beautiful white lips made for kissing. :loveya:

His name is Oops, a name he earned as a kitten when he fell off our (quite high) deck. Twice. Oops. :dunce:

He is the most precious little man in the world and I love him more than I could ever express.

93. Our Turtle named
"Turtle" he/she (even our vet isn't sure) is the dumbest pet we have. My b/f picked the name "Soup" but we decided "Turtle" because it took so long to think of a name that we just called him "Turtle."

http://www.iuploads.com>

We also have 2 Rats named Liberace and Jeeves. 3 Cats, Cinnamon, Patches, and Cream Puff. 2 Parakeets, Sweet Pea and Alana. 2 Goldfish,
Ernie and Hank. 2 Hermit Crabs, The Baron and Pip. And 1 other Turtle named Herman. It smells like a zoo in here.
