A no-name dvd+/-RW dual-layer burner for $70.

or

a brand name dvd+/-rw single-layer burner that's new but last-year's model at discounted price for $80?

3. Hard to say
I'd probaably go for the no name. I went through a bunc of CD R/RW drives. I burned up a top of the line Plextor in a little over a year. I bought a no name that works fine, and I've had it 2 1/2 years. Brand name may not indicate quality.
