Hi I am CarolinaPeridot and according to my ex friend , I am going 2 hell
Yeah my now ex-friend says that I am going to hell because I do not attend church . I do not attend Church but that does not mean that I do not believe in God . I believe in God . Mind you I am very open minded to everyone's religious beliefs but no one is ever open minded to my beliefs . I told my ex friend why I do not attend church . I am not saying that church is evil , I just choose to worship God in my heart and not wear my religion on my sleeve .I told him because Religion , along with money , is something created by man , it has nothing do with God . ( and if money was taken away from the world , we would all be equal . ) I never said I did not believe in God . He went on to say " without Jesus in your heart , you will not get into heaven . " I believe that heaven and hell are states of mind . But I never said that my beliefs were right . He begin to laugh at me and say " I'm gonna pray for you . I'm going to call my pastor for you " . I then told him . If you died tomorrow , and 1000 people created a religion after you , does that mean that its right . I then went to tell him the following :
No one should have to give answers into why they believe what they believe . You should think out of the box . Not everyone that is a Non Christian is a deciever , I am not a Christian , but I do believe in God . I worship only God . I worship love , nature and harmony with peace and karma . And I believe that everything is connected . I will tell you why I am not a Christian and why I do not have a religion . I think that Religion , along with Church and Money are things that were created by man , meaning , you are worshiping MAN . Religion and church has come to focus too much on money and man and not enough to God . You dress up to go to church but God does not care about what you wear to church and how nice your hair is - come naked , you are born naked , so what's the point . You hold church services in giant arenas , why not hold service outside in the sunshine , in the rain and in the snow - because it all comes from GOD . Think about that . I choose to worship only GOD . Don't tell someone they are on the " witness stand " because they are Non-Christians . The Bible was written by Man , not God . Those were man's ideas , not God's . The only thing God says is " to love one another " - Not seperate into tribes and fight one another . Your attitude is the reason why I and many others have been turned away from the " Christian Church " because its being too judgemental and closed minded - let me worship in my heart what I please and may you do the same . Let Nature and God Bless you and Peace be unto you .

Some may say that I should be civil and keep him as a friend but I refuse to talk to someone who constantly says that I am going to hell . I volunteer for numerous causes , I am always helpful . I want to become a diplomat to promote peace once I am done with my college studies because I want to do my best to help with " peace " . I am the first person to offer you my coat if you are cold . If I have an apple and I see 3 other people who are hungry , I am going to slice that apple into fours . But despite all of this , just because I don't attend church I am going to Hell ? - I don't get it .

I just wanted to add for the Bush Christians - they would not even know Christ if he walked in front of them .

3. Jesus didn't attend church.
He didn't build them. He didn't tell anyone to go to them. He didn't even try to organize a religion. His religion was helping people period.

37. He couldn't: there was no church. But he went to synagogue and temple
and went to them quite often.

Though as another poster has said, he often ended up arguing with others. :-)

13. You are not going to hell.
I just posted this in another forum so if you've already read it, sorry. God sees your heart and I believe yours is pure. Hey, your a democrat aren't you? Don't be friends with someone like this.

Dear President Bush,

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from you and understand why you would propose and support a constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage. As you said, "in the eyes of God marriage is based between a man a woman." I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination... End of debate.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God's Laws and how to follow them.

1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21 . In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1 . The problem is, my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?

6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?

7. Lev.21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?

8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27. How should they die?

9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev. 24:10-16.

Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I am confident you can help.

Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

You're ex friend would do well to reread the phrases attributed to Jesus in the bible and make them the focus of his faith.

The parable of the Samaritan and that judge not stuff.

Plus the pitiful heaven that his imagination tells him is his reward would be an actual hell for you and I. It sounds like eternity in a nursing home and it's never bingo night.

21. ....tell your friend....
that there is therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. And..... worry about getting his own self to heaven and quit being such a hypocrite - Jesus said a lot about that.

That's why I stopped attending church ----- too many hypocrites and busy-bodies worried about everyone else.

(Just want to add that the Bible does talk about not forsaking the fellowship of others in the body of Christ - which means attending a "body of Christ" - so you might want to think about it -- but I don't attend Church regularly either and still feel I know my Christian upbringing. I do not judge anyone by their spoken faith - but their actions as a person - so does God).

Again - tell your friend to get a life - I had to do the same with some friends from a previous church - and actually most of them kept speaking to me and even apologized for being so overbearing.

Not my immediate just grandmother and aunts who are so busy in pleasing the pastor of the church cooking for him but when they go home they don't have to food for their own family . I went through a bit of manic depressiveness a couple of years ago and I was told by a certain family member that it was because I was not " saved " - but I got over my depression without the aid of medications by finding out what made me " depressed " - and it was because I thought I had to please them , I no longer please anyone but myself and since then I am no longer face depression . Just un-tolerate relatives . But I just smile and pass the potatoes lol .

All it takes is two different religions saying that you're going to hell if you don't subscribe to their particular brand. Pick A(or any non-B), you're going to B's Hell - Pick B (or any non-A), and you're going to A's Hell.

I think religion in heart is the right way to go about it.
I don't believe in god but i do believe in the same principles as you do.
If church where not so closed minded and redneck, racist bigot, cult.(etc) I'd be Christian.
I believe that if the god factor in the bible was true,God would not be the creator of all man kind, but some distant alien or something of that sort. (hey i can dream can't i?)ether that or it was a myth and some history of what happened to some people and put into books, and leaders took the book to use it as control. (more likely)

Personally I'd rather go to hell then go to their heaven which is worse then hell to Begin with

Religion is based on helping others and enjoying nature,if some preacher warns you about hell all the time to guilt you into going to the same church every 3-4 days a week,i believe they are not being truthful.

Good for you for standing up to yourself,if i even try i get nervous and shake uncontrollably,in fear of not getting the point across and i start believing that the world will blow up someday from these idiots.
(scary situation where every muscle in my body is shaking and cannot control it)

32. That is another one of my points .
I think its being used to control people . Interesting points about some distant alien or sort - and yeah its a free world , you are allowed to dream ;) I just hate it when someone tells me I am wrong with religion like " no you are wrong ! I got proof right here ! " So not true .

Sadly I am used to having to explain why I don't attend church . Its gotten to the point I am thinking about printing out my reasons on paper and just walking away not wasting anymore time . But that would be wrong , I don't want to waste any trees lol ;)

36. I'm a born-again, twice baptized, patchwork denominational past....
left-wing conservative liberal Christian, and I say you just preached one hell of a good sermon! Thank you!

I believe it's true, what it says in the Bible, that "man looketh on the outward appearance, but God looketh on the heart". Have you ever happened to read the Chronicles of Narnia? At the end of the seventh book, Lewis presents a really great way for Christians to look at people of other faiths. I've tried to view the world that way ever since. Many Christians have learned that we don't have all the answers, and that God is far more vast than our puny minds can comprehend. I say you are living the life exemplified and commanded by Christ, whether that matters to you or not. I am glad you have a faith that works for you. God bless!

I just don't agree with telling people they are going to hell , like who made you a judge and what guidelines do you follow .

39. Jesus wasn't even a Christian
I'm sure I have been told I am going to hell. I was raised a Catholic, but am far from one right now. The hypocrisy of most Christians is enough to keep me away from any Christian religion. I believe that Christ was here on earth, along with a few other pure spiritual entities throughout history. What the Christ taught was some great beliefs and it's too bad that the Roman church rewrote most of what Jesus said. The so-called moral majority of this nation are so far from what Jesus said and they have used his name for things that he never would have wanted that I'm sure that when these people pass on they will be in for a big surprise. It's too bad, but it is the nature of life and it's not up to me to fully judge them (like they tend to do quite frequently).
