Uh oh--the turkey's still frozen
I put it into the fridge on Sunday. Poked it this morning and it still feels solid as a rock. I hate trying to pry giblets out of a frozen turkey.

2. Change the water every 30 minutes.
This is for faster thawing and for safety. You can soak it in a big Rubbermaid Roughtote type tub if you have one

5. I do that with chicken breast....
I am sure it's the same deal with a turkey, just takes a little longer!

When I hostessed my very first christmas at 19, I didn't consider that the turkey had to be thawed out until 2 days before. I took it out of the freezer and asked my mom when it would be ready, and she just laughed. Luckily, I found another turkey :)

7. If it's still frozen in the morning...
...I'll have to resort to that. I would have thought that from Sunday to Thursday would be enough for a 16-lb bird.

4. I Always Defrost Mine In An Ice Chest Filled with Water
Change the water occasionally, and keep the lid closed to make sure the bird doesn't approach room temp.

Always works.

9. Cold salt water.
Immerse it in COLD salt water, and change the water every 30-60 minutes. It'll thaw in time.
