Here's One Less CNN Watcher!

I came home, and found out that my mother has completely stopped watching CNN. She says that she feels ten times better as a result, and now has copied my method of getting news from the bbc news website, and reads the New York Times newspaper. She feels that her blood pressure has gone down as a result, and she told me that she no longer could stand watching Wolf Blitzer pontificate his silly way past the actual news.

My mother also thinks that Dean would be great for head of the DNC. That's her take on politics so far.

She was totally addicted to CNN, and her watching them turn even more conservative would set her teeth on edge. It's actually better for her health not to watch CNN anymore.

2. A warning about the NewYorkTimes

NYT is a propaganda rag with a phoney liberal facade. They are not to be trusted. Judith Miller was instrumental in helping create consent for the invasion of Iraq by printing outright lies as truth.

I remember when my Mom turned it off. It was after the 2 prez debate and I called her to ask what she thought - she sighed and said "never will I watch those foolish fascists ever again". It's a good thing to hear!!

5. It's hard to believe that we used to grouse about the liberal media

during the Clinton years. We had no idea that we were parroting false RNC talking points, but we know the difference now between a liberal and a conservative bias in the news.

I stopped watching CNN unless something special like Bill Maher last night on CNN...

MAYBE they will repair themselves; not likely though, the press has become nothing more than a corporate puppet in many ways, having been coopted in a fashion to overrule the fact that freedom of the press makes it the most powrful potential tool of change in our country.
