What's with the sudden resurgence of 70s style clothing?
Bell bottoms are back in vogue. Imagine.

1. Where have you been?
The 70s look came and went a few years ago.
Now, I can't escape the 80s retreads that seem to have taken over.

I shudder to think what we'll be seeing in 5 years.

But your point is well taken. Bell bottoms sucked before, and they still do.

5. they have returned about 3-4 times
since I was a teen in the 70s. And the stuff they resurrect is worse each time... like those crocheted ponchos. Ugh.

actually the elephant bells ( with requisite buffalo sandals from India) were kind of cool, totally wet and draggy when it was raining.

14. Grumpy confession here...I like the ponchos....I mean, like People
magazine says (or was it US), "they hide a multitude of sins". ;) :hi: Who cares if they look like crap?

6. Um, I think you missed a decade.
Bell-bottoms have been back in style since the mid-90's.

7. Um, that's nothing new
70's clothing was back in style when I was in high school, I graduated in 99.... I haven't noticed much difference between when I was in high school and now.
I am actually seeing ALOT of 80's style clothing come back.... big huge hoop earring, stonewash/acidwash jeans, ripped jeans, jean jackets, wearing dressy flats with jeans.... I haven't seen tight rolled jeans yet though...

8. I've even seen...
people wearing polo shirts with the collars flipped up...what a stupid trend (then and now). Lets just hope those Members Only jackets never come back in style :scared:

the marketing "genius" who came up with bringing those horrors back, needs terrible violent things done to him/her

12. I wonder how much it has to do with the movies being
rerun on cable?

I've seen a lot of 80s fashions, just when I'm seen Fooloose, and Girls Want to Have Fun, and 16 Candles, et al on TV.

15. I'm a fashion victim
I'm 34 years old and have yet to break out of the jeans and sweatshirts/t-shirts mode unless I'm at work. I would probably fit neatly into the 70s or any other era.

16. I'm over fifty, and a government employee,
and I'm still jeans & t-shirt, even at work (though the t's are all State Museum t's). I think I am stuck in the '70s.

18. Heck of an idea
I'm pretty sure my mom still has some of my clothes from the 70s. Maybe I can pass them onto my son so that he can be cool. Of course, he's only six. Does he need to be cool yet?

20. Speaking of the 70s and 80s
If I would have kept all my concert shirts, I would have been able to make a small fortune on e-bay as they've been in style these last few years.
