1. Turkey breasts for us.
Just the two of us and by next week our kitchen will be gone for a while.

3. I raised turkeys one year
They really are very stupid birds (wild turkeys are much brighter). The day we got them, we put them in the pen with a heat lamp and a pan of water and left them. Half an hour later, I went out to check them and they were all dead, 50 turkey chicks drowned in a pan of water about a half inch deep.

We worked, rubbing them with towels and drying them under the lamp, and about 42 came back. Too stupid to know they were dead. They were fun to raise. We'd play a game called turkey tag. I'd throw a piece of lettuce or something in the pen and one turkey would grab it and run. The rest would chase him. He'd eventually drop it and another would grab it and it would all begin again. Very odd. I'd toss more in but they were more focused on chasing each other than eating what was on the ground.

They were very entertaining but incredibly dumb. Tasty, too. Fresh store turkey is better than frozen - fresh off the farm turkey is better than fresh from the store.
