I'm burning a rap CD
for a 12-year-old. He really loves rap music (like 50 Cent), but I can't find an entire CD that I'd willingly buy him. My compromise is to burn him a rap CD with songs that we both can stand. Any suggestions?

2. Pharcyde, Black Eyed Peas
Can't think of anymore that you'd be willing to tolerate and that your son may like too.

16. maybe it's just me, but i've never really considered bep as rap..
I've always considered them as more of a hip-pop, or nu-phunk kinda sound. Of course, I'm not much of a fan, and haven't really listened to everything they have to offer.

18. Same here --
I was just trying to think of something BOTH could listen to, and a 12 year old probably won't be able to tell the difference anyway.

7. I would love to, but
he's not my kid. We adopted a family for Christmas. All the boy asked for was clothes and a rap CD. I'd love to give him what he wants, but I simply can't bring myself to buy 50 Cent for a 12 year old.

Rock over london... rock on chicago... Timex, it takes a licking and keeps on ticking!

Hmm what to put on a kid's rap cd:

Mr. Wendel - Arrested Development
The Humpty Dance - Digital Underground
Tricky - Run DMC

but that's all old school...

It's excellent. It samples the Beatles.
