Explain when it is proper to use "bring" rather than "take".

I'll be back later.

:)

2. Question 2: Explain the difference between "lie down" and "lay down"
Now to answer your question:

"Bring" is carrying or accompanying something toward the speaker. "Take" is carrying or accmopanying something away from the speaker.

However, when the two verbs are often confused when the spatial relations are not clear.

Is that the answer you were looking for?

I lie down.
I lay my body down.

Or is it the other way around? "Ten thousand leagues beneath the ocean the land of Pepperland lay... or lie... I'm not too sure."

9. Lie and lay
Lie is to recline.
Lay is to place.

It gets really weird when you go to past tense. Past tense of lie is lay. As in: Last week I lay on the beach.

15. That too, but "lie" also means to recline
When you get yourself horizontal on your bed, you're "lying" there, not "laying" there, unless somebody's with you ;-) In which case, you're "laying" somebody else.

"Lay" needs a direct object, you see. As one writer said, "lay down" means spread goose feathers. You can "lay the baby down" for a nap, but you yourself "lie down" for a nap.

14. Lie vs lay
If you lie, you could be sleeping.
If you lay, you're working (not counting sleeping at work).

12. Hypocrates
The boxes in which junkies store their needles.

There is always hope even when it seems very bad.
Far from the southern vulcanic sirens comes the hope through the winds...

Don't try to talk, don't even try to move
You are too weak to think, or try to pull it through
We are the good ones, and we surely know the way
To give you better words you could ever say
