U2//How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb -- WORST. U2. ALBUM. EVER.

I just had to get that off my chest. I feel so much better now.

It really is the worst U2 album ever. It's so commercial, boring, and 'safe'. It shouldn't be called a 'Rock' album it should be called a 'Calm' album. It doesn't push any boundaries or even keep up with some of their older stuff. Bono's voice is getting worse as well.

Considering your taste in music, I consider this review an endorsement, and I'll probably pick up a copy (I was planning to anyway).

aww man thanks :pals: back atcha. I havent heard this new CD yet, I typically like U2 though. Sunday Bloody Sunday makes me want to bomb a British Bus :D, ok not really.

You're entitled to your opinion, but IMO this album easily beats Zooropa, Pop, and All that you can't leave behind.

I like it a great deal, and I've only listened to it for a day or so. As ....whatever his new name is now says ( :) ), it grows on me more with each listen, and I like that.

And, on their worst day (supposedly Pop but whatever), U2 is still much better than other bands on their best. They don't have a weak link musically, Bono's voice is terrific, and their production is flawless.

one more edit: You say Bono's voice is getting worse? I think he's hitting notes on this album he hasn't since Joshua Tree, and I was kind of impressed with that. Hmm. Different strokes and all.

Now, I didn't say Adam was the BEST bassist ever, but he's certainly capable.

Big disclaimer: I don't get bass players in general though.
I never heard any fancy bass stylings in a rock band until Flea (he's actually the best thing about his band), and that's pretty much it.
