2. Yes, they are Rednecks
But it is the closest to a reality show that a cartoon could ever get.I grew up in Texas and it is so true to life.

"Bobby, hurry up or we'll have to park in the dirt lot"

13. It's hilariously realistic!
I have met people who I could match up to each one of the main characters. :P

You guys would have loved watching the real life version of Dale Gribble dealing with the impending doom of Y2K! I sometimes wonder what he did with all that stuff he was hording.

5. That "witch" video store clerk
His name was Ward... voiced by David Cross (whom I adore). And, *and*. He's based (named, even) on my ex-boyfriend who works on the show.

Let me tell ya, there is nothing cooler than your ex being made fun of on national/syndicated television.

8. Final King of the Hill episode?
That whole Wisconsin Hunter Massacree sounded like the bitter finale... the "poachin' Laotian" up in the tree platform, the rednecks who own the platform come by, words are exchanged, and all hell breaks loose.

It was a sad episode to be sure, but the whole thing just plays out in my mind, sort of like the "Mitan Condo" episode...

17. I understand every word he says
My non-Texan family and friends think I'm either completely twisted or psychic (or perhaps both).

They will pause the show and say, "Okay, asshole, what did Boomhauer just say?"

"He clearly said that the '69 Camaro was better than the new-fangled ones they're putting on the market today. I believe the 'vroom-vroom' noises were an indication that Boomhauer believes there to be more power in the older models. He also thinks that they're better for making out with chicks in."

I've also been told that I sound like Boomhauer when drinking heavily, which perhaps explains my understanding (that and he sounds like most of my childhood friends did).

No problem...Of course, I can also follow Peggy-logic. Not that I think that way, or agree with her half the time, but I can follow.

27. i grew up in rural, NE texas....i know every character.......
that show is like looking into a mirror of my past. hank or dale would be my favorites...dale is definatly the funniest. if you can watch the episode where dale flushes chuck mangione out of hiding in the mega-lo-mart or the episode where dale almost gets voted out of being president of the arlen gun club, you may be a vegetable.....
