is it OK to download that microshlock update pack that came out in Sept?

I'd heard/read that it messed things up badly, and it was important to wait til it was debugged

dunno where to find out about that, and any help would be appreciated

1. Clean out all viruses and spyware.

Clean up and optimize your registry and your hard drive. Then install it.

You will be ok.

3. I installed it off of the free SP2 CD from Microsoft.

It's been running smoothly for about 6 weeks no with no issues to report. One thing I did do (following the advice of another DUer) was to go into services and disable the Security Center dealy that's supposed to monitor your anti-virus software and firewall and ensure they are operating and up to date. For one thing it does not recognize some third party firewalls like Sygate (which I am using).
