I'm grateful in particular my niece might be coming home for Christmas and she is still not in the sandbox.

That my cousin is cooking dinner.

And I've found several forums including DU to vent my frustrations on.

I'd bet the poor turkey wishes he was the national bird like Ben Franklin wanted. Yum.

There is an empty chair in my kitchen that won't be filled ever again.

But there is one less empty space in the VA cemetery where I will go this morning and cry again.

I want out of Jesusland.

The time has come for California to secede so NOBODY ever has to hurt the way I do, especially today.

I too look around and see a lot of empty chairs and its never the same. We all only have our memories of those days when things were different and our family table was full. I am beginning to feel like this is groundhog day all over again, with this Iraq war. They say we must be strong but, who are the they. I feel like my life has been rewound. I too hate the holidays, too much to think about, too close and personal. I don't know what else to tell you, that you don't already feel or know.

John Fogarty wrote a song that just strikes a nerve with me, again & again.
