Why do we celebrate Shackleton so much? Shit, people live in Antarctica

We got people living there, in science stations, from countries all over the world, and yet Shackleton, who couldn't manage to stay alive there, gets all the attention. What's up with that? Sounds like he was just a bad planner. He should have landed near one of the stations or something. Dolt.

Shackleton's story just happened to be a great story of survival, and for your information they didn't have the technology we have nowadays in 1912...
