Anyone who participated in a Thanksgiving Day Parade? I did the old Gimbel's parade in Philly umpteen years ago. 20 degrees outside. Froze my tail off waiting to march. Once we got going, it was great. Our HS band memorized its music so we didn't have to deal with page flipping. Was extremely glad to wear a wool band uniform and not that skimpy stuff the drill team had to wear.
it was about 5 years ago. Windy as hell, I play tuba so believe me I got a workout that day. I was also in the Orange bowl parade 7 years back...we were right behind the clydesdales. Needless to say we didn't always have straight lines. The Orange bowl parade is also ridiculously long, it felt like we marched for hours. Still a lot of fun.

My dad was one of the parade organizers... and I guess one of the perks was being able to let your kids ride on the floats. So.... I got to ride on some of the tractor-pulled floats. It was great fun.
