4. Well if you get stuck with it make Stove Top from the box
Bring it over in a casserole dish and act like you slaved for hours on it. Put an ungodly amount of salt on it for good measure. Overcook it too. That'll learn 'em.

5. I would rather swallow my own tongue than Stove Top
I've done the turkey and stuffing for 3 years running only because I REALLY care about the stuffing.

I was happy to turn it over to someone else.

But I sure thought they'd REMEMBER they took on the job.

7. You don't have to eat it.
Then again, whoever else made it probably wouldn't make it homemade as well as you do. Maybe you have raised the bar too high.

8. Nah - they'll make it. Might burn it, but they'll make it.
I mostly hate the call the night before.

If I was making stuffing I'd have had my supplies last weekend - I wouldn't be figuring it out the night before!

10. And use broth instead of water
This gives it more flavor. You don't need more salt and you can't overcook this stuff. You can add a can of mushrooms. And use the mushroom water from the can. I've done that, if I was making something that I couldn't possibly stuff. I agree that homemade is best, but we do what we can, at the last minute.:-)

11. Bread, onion, giblets
Seasoning, voila, stuffing. And it tastes very good. So if worse comes to worse...

12. My mother's stuffing includes apples and pecans too
we're going to my aunt's house this afternoon, and unfortunately, her stuffing isn't that great. :-(

13. Check out the last paragraph in this recipe, since you aren't making
the turkey. I saw it made on TV and it looked really good. You can even leave out something, if you can't find it, and it will still be good. Just make sure that you have the bread and the broth. But doesn't anybody make stuffing in-the-bird, these days? That's the way my mother always did it, so I do too. There is now a Cooking forum on DU and you'd probably get more replies from them. I also cook, but make in-the-bird giblet stuffing. Good luck!:-)
