Anyone want to eat my candied yams?

Seriously, I haven't made them in awhile because no one around here likes them (and apparently they still don't), but I made them this year and they are so, so good. You bake the yams with brown sugar, cinnamon, butter, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, and topped with marshmallows. It's my mid-western, WASPy holiday treat. I love it and now I have a giant pyrex dish full to consume this weekend. :D

2. Sorry, I can't take uber sweet yams anymore
In my Kitchen Aid mixer now I have a couple of small sliced yams and three cloves of freshly minced garlic. This is the only way I'll even entertain eating them!

3. Just had some thankyou...
pretty much the same recipe....it's part of our traditional Thanksgiving day meal...don't do it for any other occassion...

btw: a handy rule to have: whoever refuses to eat the yams has to clean the pyrex dish afterwards......works like a charm....:evilgrin:

5. I have the same thing in the oven
And my youngest son is the only one who likes it. No one else touches it. Enjoy it, it's a once a year treat for both of you I guess.

But for the first time I'm not making them this year as no one else eats them but me! Sob!! Also, no mincemeat pie for the same reason. NEXT year though, I'll make for ME!!

I don't even like them with nothing but butter. One of the things I'm thankful for is my dad never made me eat them like he made me eat everything else I didn't like. But I'm happy for you. Enjoy! :)
