You're Not Going To Believe this One

Okay, so like everything is ready to go for the BIG Dinner, and then we were supposed to go out to the Hot Springs over by Tecate and camp for a couple days. Anyway, it's been really cold here at night, so Mike rolled this old oil electric heater in to the bedroom last night and turned it on.

At about three o'clock, Bandit the cat was up on his hind legs by my side of the bed batting at my face for about ten minutes, and it HURT because his claws are sharp. I got up, and relized I couldn't hardly breath. The heater was smoking,smoke all over the place, this awful burning oil smell throughout the house, even downstairs. I pulled the plug and it sparked & I screamed.

What a disaster, everyone had headahes, I didn't put the bird in, we've postponed the camping trip, going to do the bird tomorrow, I'm like starving, all the windows are open and I've been spraying lysol all over.

Another Thanksgiving disaster. Ha. ha. Jezeezus !


Oh and P.s. We got in a big fight because I told him to throw that fricken heater away two years ago.

The kids' six cats annoy me, but they are so sweet and now I appreciate them a bit more.

Anyway I post as mr.jack and Thanksgiving will be like everything else in Baja Mexico...tomorrow. And yes, Bandit is going to get a big hunk of turkey!

Chances are EXCELLENT that your policy covers smoke damage, and they will pay for a professional service to come in and clean/deodorize your house. Most likely they will also clean all your clothes, carpets, furniture, etc., too.

years ago, a friend gave me his old, very old, fan ... it was a hot night and we didn't have A/C so we turned on the fan and went to sleep ... we awoke to a room filled with thick, blue smoke ...

we had our bedroom door closed so the smoke detector just outside the door did not go off ... we were really lucky we didn't die that night ...

what good are smoke detectors that aren't in the room you're sleeping in ????

Glad you are okay, I know, I really need to get some smoke detectors.
This place is OLD and we're redoing it...another F~!@#$%^ked story,
but that last earthquake, man it just shook and broke the water lines under the house. That's it. I'm fed up, need to win the lottery and buy a new house.
