I loved the way they spoofed so many other scifi shows. And they did not go over the top with it. You could take the movie seriously as a mistaken identify comedy or you could see the fun they were making out of certain type of characters: the brainy scientist, the tech, and so on.
I own less than a dozen DVDs and this is one of them.
7. I know this is really cheesy, but I love the way Alan Rickman's
character hated his line "By Grabthar's Hammer..." all through the movie; but then after his Thermian disciple is killed, he whispers it to him that he will be avenged. Cheesy, but great.
10. They had to tweak it a bit to get it to PG. If you look closely in
a couple of scenes, both Helm Laredo and Tawny Madison have less offensive profanities dubbed over R-rated ones. Laredo says "full of it" when you can clearly see his lips saying "Full of shit", and Sigourney Weaver's character says "Screw this!" when you can see her mouthing "Fuck this!"
