BIGGEST NFL Game of the Season is on Today
1-9 Miami Dolphins vs 1-9 San Francisco :silly:

Well the #1 pick in the 2005 draft is on the line, as far as that nothing much really at stake. :D

1. And to think they met each other in the Super Bowl in 1985.
Well, it was 19 years ago, but it seems like yesterday - Marino vs. Montana.

2. Who is it now?
Edited on Sun Nov-28-04 10:53 AM by Champ
Feeley vs Rattay? Doesn't really carry the name power as the 1985 Super Bowl.

6. Not just "name power" but "star power"
Who of those who watched it can forget those players:

For San Francisco: Joe Montana, Roger Craig, Dwight Clark, Freddie Solomon, Carl Monroe, Bill Ring, Ronnie Lott, Eric Wright, Dwight Hicks, Carlton Williamson, Bubba Paris, Keena Turner, Dwaine Board, Dan Bunz, Randy Cross, Fred Dean, to name a few.

For Miami: Dan Marino, Mark Clayton, Mark Duper, Pete Johnson, Dan Johnson, Tony Nathan, Joe Carter, Nat Moore, Bill Barnett, Cleveland Green, Don Strock, Dwight Stephenson, Lyle Blackwood, Charles Bowser, Kim Bokamper, etc., to name another few.

13. Four Offensive Linemen From That Miami Team Went To The Pro Bowl
I can think of two...

Dwight Stephenson...

Roy Foster....

Cleveland Green, a tight end turned guard didn't go

Who were the two tackles?

I remember that game like it was yesterday...

The 49ers used five and six defensive backs all game and the Dolphins lacked the running game to make them pay...

Could you imagine if they had the 2002 version of Rickey Williams on that team...

The outcome would surely have been different..

With all due respect to Elway without Terrel Davis he might be the best quarterback never to win a SuperBowl...

15. They had four tackles:
Jon Giesler, Cleveland Green, Ronnie Lee and Dwight Stephenson.

The Miami players who went to the 1985 Pro Bowl were: Dan Marino (QB), Mark Clayton (WR), Roy Foster (G), and Dwight Stephenson (C/T).

24. That was the 1985 Season and the January, 1986 Superbowl.
One of the most lopsided in history. The Patriots were crushed.

8. History has been kind to the Saints. Not so the Dolphins and 49'ers.
Remember when the Saints were dubbed the 'Aints?

9. Come to think of it, the 'Aints were the only team whose hometown fans
wore grocery bags over their heads at their own stadium.

17. There will be a lot of empty seats in the stadium for sure.
The majority of the people there will be season ticket holders. Only because they had already paid for admission. Maybe a few thousand bought tickets for today's game because they have nothing better to do, but I wouldn't waste my money on it.

21. Just got home. The 49'ers really stink this year. Lost again to a lousy
Miami team.

New England's crushing Baltimore by playing great defensive game.
