Share a thought or two here you can't / won't tell anybody else.....
Mine: I dislike most of the people around me, I don't think they are nice, well-meaning people. Mean? Perhaps. :(

I wish I could just leave my job and either act/write/be creative in some way. :)

I settled for too little/too early, that's really why I feel so frustrated. My own frigging fault. :(

:)

One of you may end up falling in love, and then it will SUCK, especially if it's you.
The fact that she is your boss may also be a big problem depending on how it ends/if you're found out.

Until then, consenting adults and all that--I imagine you're not the married one, and she's the one with some thinking to do.

21. I can't stand my parents.
Edited on Sun Nov-28-04 01:50 PM by SarahBelle
They are Democrats, so it has nothing to do with politics. My father is such a nice man at times and extremely intelligent, but so socially inept that he can't seem to relate to other human beings. My mom is just passive aggressive, judgmental, and rather cruel, but she thinks she's the biggest sweetheart in the universe as well as the proverbial victim of everyone else. I am civil now and little more. Their view is that there's something wrong with me because I no longer invite them for holidays. The problem was that me, with all the little kids (and for years the semi-screwed up husband who worked awful hours) had to do all the cooking, cleaning, prep work, and they would come over and complain without lifting a finger. Finally, I said, "Unless there's some better behavior and reciprocation here, I can't continue this." In their view, that means I am the one with the problem. :eyes:

People who have loving families are very lucky and those people never seem to understand what this is like. I don't have that and it certainly isn't my choice. I have tried for years, but sometimes, a person gets to a point where they know there's nothing more they can do. It's a shame because they are the ones who miss out more than I do.

edit: grammar

27. I understand about that.
I had a parents that perpetuated unspeakable abuse and would pretend they were "good parents" in public. But my mother took it a step further where she wanted us to pretend even to ourselves that she was this great mom all the while she would do these heinous things. It's quite common for perpetrators, especially narcissistic perpetrators to play the victim. They act shamelessly and in order to keep doing so they see themselves as the victim in their own minds. It's how they keep from being accountable for their behavior.

I'm proud of you for having boundaries. That takes guts! If you ever need to talk feel free to pm me!

40. Thanks.
The past few years in my life have been entirely about defining my boundaries and seeing myself in a better light. I really am a person blessed with many things within myself. It's just that for years my family as well as my soon-to-be ex-husband frequently pointed out to me only that which were flaws, much of which aren't really flaws but levels of personal strength (even positive attributes) that they perceived as threatening to them in some way. I'm not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm am far stronger, more intelligent, and more of many things that I gave myself credit for many years. I no longer live my life based of some else's skewed definitions of me or my own fears. It's not always easy, but I am far more at peace within myself.
