The Official "I Hate Pro Football" Thread
Check in here if you're like me, and would rather drink Drano than watch football on TV.

1. I actually prefer it on TV to in-person.
Baseball I prefer in-person. But I can see a football game a lot better on TV. Mind you, I stopped watching sports obsessively, and my life is better for it.

I'm just saying.

2. Count me in.
Could not possibly enjoy football less.

It doesn't help that my birthday is at the end of January...I've had a few birthdays badly dented by Superbowl parties.

3. Bingo, b-day Boy!
I dunno, a sport that, on the day of the championship game, spousal abuse reports are the highest all year. No thanks.

11. ok

6. I used to like professional sports....
...before I started hating them, and their whiny, overpaid, bling-bling flaunting felonious athletes.

jab hot upholstery tacks through my eyes.

But hey, different strokes, I guess....

9. I started watching Australian football
in the mid-'80s when it was on ESPN19 or something. Since then, NFL players so heavily padded they look like terrorist Smurfs have just seemed silly to me.

Pro football (which includes the NCAA) is mayhem with a façade of organization — kinda like war. That's why 'Mericans like it.

10. This may fuel your hate: NFL political donations
hint: they're all pukes...even the 'good' ones like Lynn Swann.

This is completely off-topic, but - no more Jerry Bruckheimer movies for me! Dude is apparently a serious Bush supporter.

16. Can't really say that about the entire league
Maybe they should add a "Do you play in the NFL?" question on exit polls to get a more assesement. Not all of them, Kellen Winslow is a Dem. Don't know about his "soldier" son. :)

13. Funny you should say....
While channel-surfing the other day, I caught the latter part of the movie, "Lucas." There is a football scene and during a pileup, I said to my wife, "Football is the stupidest human endeavor conceived by the mind of mankind."

I have been known to intone rather loudly in crowded rooms that football is why we're in Iraq.

I stand by that, by the way.

19. Not.
I am no longer a real big fan, but of the big 3 (Football, Baseball, Basketball) Football is by far the best for me!
I played as a kid, now I watch my kid.
I cannot even imagine sitting through all 9 innings of a baseball game (God forbid extra innings)
Never got excited about basketball.
I cannot really get excited at all about spectator sports (including NASCAR!)
What is the difference between sitting on your ass for 3 hours watching sports or sitting on your ass for 3 hours watching soap operas???????
I raced motorcycles for a long time and since a big injury forced me out, I now spend a ton of time fishing for salmon and steelhead.
I cannot get a rush out of watching a bunch of overpaid people have a good time!
Watching my kid is a little different though.
